Does your community need Human Centric Interview Training?
You have training choices.
“To live in the body of a survivor is to never be able to leave the scene of the crime.”
– Blythe Baird
We are committed to meeting your community where you are.
The aim of the Human-Centric Interview (HCI) training is to equip participants with the knowledge and core skills needed to conduct and document interviews with individuals who may have experienced trauma or victimization.
Past developments in interviewing—ranging from various interview and interrogation methods to child forensic interviews and trauma-informed approaches—have guided our efforts to understand the experiences of victims, suspects, and witnesses of crime and tragedy. As our understanding of human behavior, memory, trauma effects, neurodiversity, and intersectionality evolves, we must continually integrate new insights to refine and advance our practices.
Understanding goes beyond trauma or traumatic events; many other factors influence the ability and motivation to recall. We should pursue understanding and connection through an intersectional lens to better grasp behavior and memory, considering factors such as past experiences, neurodiversity, complex trauma, non-linear memory, polychronic time, environment, and genetics, among others. Our goal is to engage with the person before us as a fellow human navigating an often challenging system—and to remain authentically human above all.
